True, it is what’s on the inside of the present that counts…and our kiddos will inevitably tear off the wrapping paper before we even have a chance to take a picture, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make them look pretty for the few seconds before the chaos!

MATERIALS

  • Your Present (preferably in a box)
  • Wrapping Paper
  • Clear Tape
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon (optional)
featured gift: no coal card game

LET'S WRAP

Step 1

Determine how much wrapping paper you'll need to cover the present. To do this, place the gift on a large sheet of wrapping paper. Cut enough paper so that each side, when brought around the box, it reaches slightly more than halfway across it.

Step 2

Secure one side of the wrapping paper to the present with tape.

Step 3

Wrap the other side around and secure it with tape. For the ends of the present, starting at one end, fold a short side toward the center of the box, creating a crisp, pointed end at the corner of each long end of the paper. Crease the wrapping paper to keep its shape and prevent tearing. Repeat this step for the remaining short ends on each side of the gift.

Step 4

Fold the bottom flap on each side and secure with tape.

ADD GIFT WRAPPING ACCESSORIES

Step 1

Prep your ribbon by measuring the height from base to end, the length across the top, and the height from the top to the base. You will need to measure 5-6 lengths to tie the bow around the present.

Step 2

Find the middle of the ribbon by folding it in half. With the present, seam side down, place the center ribbon over the center of the present and flip it over. To ensure the ribbon does not move, we recommend securing it with double sided tape.

Step 3

Fold the ribbon around the edges and bring it together at the center of the back side of the present and twist.

Step 4

Bring the ribbon back up the edges to the front of the present and tie in a knot, over the original vertical ribbon.

Step 5

Take the two loose ends and tie in a bow.

Step 6

Take some time to fluff up the bow and trim the ends at an angle to ensure they are the same length, and then voila! The dreamiest present!
